John Jerralds

District 5

John Jerralds, appointed to the City Council in 2000, was elected to the District 5 seat in 2001. He served as Deputy Mayor from 2007 – 2009 and served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Pensacola Escambia Development Commission of the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. John currently represents the City Council on the Community Action Program and the Juvenile Justice Council.

John retired from the Escambia County School District with over 25 years of classroom and school administration service.

He is active in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Movement for Change, and was recently inducted into the Washington High School Hall of Fame—Wildcat Wall of Distinction, and is a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

John has a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from the University of West Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from St. Joseph College, Brooklyn, New York. He and his wife Viola have two sons.
