Megan B. Pratt

Megan Pratt was elected to the At-large District 9 seat in November 2008 and changed to the At-large District A seat and was unopposed in the November 2010 election. She currently serves as Chairman of the Community Redevelopment Agency, Megan serves as Council’s appointee on the Community Maritime Park Associates, Inc. and represents the City Council on the Florida/Alabama Transportation Planning Organization.
Megan is the Education Outreach Coordinator for the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, where she runs multiple science education programs, including Science Saturdays and I LOVE Science.
Megan’s community involvement includes serving on the boards of the Zoo Northwest Florida, WSRE Foundation, and Communities in Schools of Northwest Florida. She is a volunteer at Montclair Elementary and previously volunteered at Weis and Brentwood Elementary schools. She was a member of the Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) Class of 2005 and co-chaired LeaP days on economic development (2005 and 2006) and education and health (2008). She is a member of Pensacola Young Professionals and was a Rising Star in the Independent News in 2008.
Megan attended B. T. Washington High in Pensacola. She graduated from M.I.T. in 1993 with a B.S. in Chemistry. She received a M.A. in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Harvard in 1999.
Megan and her husband, Jerry, have two children, Anna Holliday “Annie” Pratt and Charles Benson “Ben” Pratt. She is the daughter of Lois and Scott Benson. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, Pensacola.
