Repair Assistance
The City of Pensacola's SHIP Housing Repair Assistance Program provides no cost funding to low income, single family homeowners within the corporate limits of the City of Pensacola for repairs requiring immediate attention to their homestead residence to provide a safe, sound, and sanitary structure.
Assistance is provided on a first-come first-serve basis.
Repairs shall be considered for the principal residence located on any parcel of
property and not on any sheds or other uninhabited buildings or spaces.
FUNDING:
* Funding is limited to $7,500 per project;
* In such cases where the repair work for any one project costs less than $7,500, only one project shall be funded for any one household within any twelve month period.

Elligibility Requirements
- The homeowner's house must require immediate repair to provide a safe, sound, and sanitary structure;
- The cost of the needed repairs must not exceed the Program's cap of $7,500;
- The family's gross household income shall not exceed 80% of the community's median income adjusted for family size as defined by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
- Each Owner will be assisted to secure repairs only within the categories defined as eligible immediate repairs, which are defined as follows:
- Roof - The roof must be leaking or deteriorated to the point that leaking will occur within six months of the inspection.
- Electrical - The electrical system does not conform with the City of Pensacola Inspection Department's requirements for electrical systems and safety in existing residences.
- Plumbing - Leaking or inoperative water supply and waste piping; a kitchen sink, lavatory, tub or shower, and water closet which are not properly installed and maintained in a sanitary working condition free from defects, leaks, and obstructions; water heating facilities which are currently or imminently unsafe or inoperable.
- Heating Facilities - Presence of unapproved, unvented fuel burning heaters in bedrooms and bathrooms; heating facilities which are inoperative, improperly installed, or incapable of safely and adequately heating all habitable rooms and bathrooms.
- Structural - Building foundation system which is incapable of supporting the loads which would normally be placed upon it during normal use.
