Job Description:
The City of Pensacola, FL is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Planner. The successful candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of the principals and practices of urban planning. Working within the Planning Services Division, the selected applicant will be responsible for performing various planning tasks including processing land use and zoning changes, preparation of comprehensive plan updates, preparation of grant applications, performing research and preparing special reports and planning studies, conducting site plan and subdivision reviews, assisting with or serving as staff to various City of Pensacola review boards, performing project research, and providing technical assistance to the public.
Requires:
Qualifications: A Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field and two years of urban planning experience. Preference will be given to applicants with AICP certification. The position requires excellent communication and presentation skills as well as ability to work with diverse citizen groups.
