Al Coby is the city manager (850-435-1627).

Al Coby was appointed City Manager on August 3, 2008. His duties include oversight of all City operations. Mr. Coby had previously served as Assistant City Manager since 1987.
 
Al is a native of Muscogee, Oklahoma, and a graduate of the University of Missouri. He served in the Marine Corps from 1971 to 1982. Following his flight training in Pensacola, Al served three tours in fighter squadrons and returned to Pensacola as a flight instructor in 1978. He attended two years of graduate courses at the University of West Florida and joined the City in 1984 as Assistant City Manager and Executive Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency.
 
Al has served as a member of two state-appointed boards and is currently serving on Sacred Heart Hospital’s Advisory Board, the Boy Scout Gulf Coast Council, and is also a member of Downtown Rotary.   In the past, Mr. Coby has served on the American Red Cross Board, Pensacola Museum of Art Board of Trustees, and the University of West Florida Foundation Board of Trustees.
