John Jerralds, appointed to the City Council in 2000, was elected to the District 5 seat in 2001. He served as Deputy Mayor from 2007 – 2009.
 
Mr. Jerralds is an Occupational Specialist at George Stone Technical Center.
 
Mr. Jerralds is active in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and Movement for Change (Education Committee Chairman). He is a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
 
He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, New York and a master’s degree from the University of West Florida. He and his wife Viola have two sons.
