The Whibbs Conference Room is named for Vince Whibbs, Sr., who served as Mayor of Pensacola from 1978-1991. A tireless ambassador for the City, Whibbs championed Pensacola in many ways as Mayor. He worked for renewal of the downtown area, promoted homeporting and other military programs, and was a frequent figure at events large and small to make Pensacola's presence felt far beyond the city limits.
