Mayor Hayward seeking nominees for Library Task Force

Wednesday, 1 February 2012 - 4:11pm

Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward is seeking City residents interested in serving on a joint City/County blue ribbon task force to develop a five-year plan for West Florida Public Library operations.

The task force will determine goals and objectives for the library system for 2013 through 2018. Task force members will have the opportunity to review current library programs and services while evaluating future options to best serve evolving community needs.

The final document produced by the task force will provide a future plan for the West Florida Public Library system. This plan is required by the State of Florida, and Mayor Hayward is looking for committed, creative citizens who can help develop a forward-looking strategy for the West Florida Public Library.

The task force is expected to meet for approximately six months in order to complete this task.

Mayor Hayward will appoint three (3) individuals to the task force. Applicants must be residents of the City of Pensacola. Interested residents can obtain an application from the City Clerk on the 7th floor of City Hall or at (850) 435-1606. Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of the Mayor in person, via fax at (850) 435-1611, or mail at P.O. Box 12910, Pensacola, FL 32521.
