How to Apply

 

The City of Pensacola Housing Department accepts applications for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program Waiting List one day each month. The designated day to call is the SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH, excluding Holidays.
 
Applications for the waiting list will be taken only over the telephone through the use of a dedicated telephone line. The telephone number to call is: 850-858-0340. Telephone calls will be accepted starting at 7:00 a.m. and will continue until a minimum of 25 applications have been taken. One application per phone call will be taken. Applicants will be asked to provide the full name of the family head of household, his/her social security number, mailing address, and telephone number. Applicants will be mailed a preliminary application to complete for determining eligibility for placement on the Section 8 Waiting List
 
In order to provide reasonable accommodation for elderly and disabled applicants to apply for housing assistance, the City of Pensacola Housing Department will accept phone calls on the second Thursday of the month, excluding Holidays, on the main telephone line, 850-858-0350, during regular working hours (Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm). To be eligible to apply on Thursdays, applicant must be either AGE 62 OR OLDER or must provide documentation of his/her disability as well as meet all other program requirements.  Applicants will be asked to provide the full name of the family head of household, his/her social security number, birth date, mailing address, and telephone number. Applicants will be mailed a preliminary application to complete for determining eligibility for placement on the Section 8 Waiting List.
