Clyde Mathis

Clyde E. Mathis, Port Director of the Port of Pensacola, is a 30 year veteran of the maritime industry. Prior to accepting this position in August of 2006, he was Executive Assistant for Marketing and Business Development for the Port of New Orleans and was involved in developing new business, business retention and all senior management issues. He also worked for the Port of New Orleans from 1992 to 1996 serving as Deputy Director, Terminals in the Marketing and Terminal Services Division.
In his years in the maritime industry, Mr. Mathis has served in stevedoring, logistics and container services. He has been President of a New Orleans company, International Logistics Company, and also Vice President of a container on barge service company, Osprey Line.
For many years he served in operations and sales in the stevedoring industry which included much experience in negotiation and resolution in contract labor and commercial issues. Mr. Mathis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
